In the second crash a man died in a separate road accident later last night.
The driver , who was 21 and from the Halstead area, went off the road on the A1124 at Brook Street,
near Halstead.
He was travelling towards Halstead when the accident happened at about 9:40pm.
He was thrown clear from the car, a gold Citroen Saxo, which then careered back in to the road and
collided with a Toyota Starlet.
A 51-year-old woman from Sible Hedingham , who was in the Toyota, was taken to Colchester General
Hospital with chest injuries.
Police has renewed their appeal for witnesses to a fatal road crash on the A1124 at Brook Street
near Halstead.
Ashley Smith, 21, of Highfields, Great Yeldham, died on Thursday after being thrown from his Citroen
Saxo car.
The incident happened at about 9:40pm when he was travelling towards Halstead.
The car struck a fence before entering a field and hitting a brick wall.
Mr Smith was thrown clear from the car but the Saxo continued back on to the road and careered into
a green Toyota Starlet driving in the opposite direction.
The 51-year-old woman driver, from Sible Hedingham, was taken to Colchester General Hospital
suffering from chest injuries.

I went to see you today. I really hope you like the flower's. As you know it was raining and when i got back into the car to leave the next song that came on my ipod unexpected was "sweet female attitude, il give you flowers" it made me smile. I just put it on my myspace profile. I miss you sooo so much and wish with all my heart your brother would talk to me, it would mean the world to me as he is the closest thing to you. I love you and think of you aaaaaall the time but i'm sure you know that huh?
